A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books.

From "Leaves of Grass" by Walt Whitman

I find this vine appealing, with its soft blue trumpet-shaped blossoms and interesting three-lobed, pointed leaves. I've considered collecting seeds and planting it along a fence in my yard, but have hesitated because when I mentioned it to my mother-in-law, she said (to paraphrase), "You must be out of your mind!"  It is an invasive weed in gardens and cultivated fields, so I have heeded her counsel that I would regret introducing it to my yard.

Each flower lasts only for one day, and like other Morning Glories, they are open only for a short while during the morning.
