The white moth-mullein brushed its slim
Cool, faery flowers against his knee;
In places where the way lay dim
The branches, arching suddenly,
Made tomblike mystery for him.
From "Eidolons" by Madison Cawein
Moth Mullein is an especially pretty wildflower, with white or yellow blossoms on a tall stalk. Each one-inch flower has five rounded petals. The purple stamens have hairy filaments, so that they look "fuzzy". The flowers are rather loosely spaced along the stalk, which can be up to 5 feet tall.
