Missouri Wildflower Guide

The white moth-mullein brushed its slim
     Cool, faery flowers against his knee;
In places where the way lay dim
     The branches, arching suddenly,
Made tomblike mystery for him.

Moth Mullein

Moth Mullein is an especially pretty wildflower, with white or yellow blossoms on a tall stalk. Each one-inch flower has five rounded petals. The purple stamens have hairy filaments, so they look "fuzzy". The flowers are loosely spaced along the stalk, which can be up to 5 feet tall.
